Team Building Adventure
Nashville, TN
This adventure challenge is designed to bring your squad closer together and get you to explore the surrounding area while having fun and staying safe. Please follow all local and state laws and be respectful of anyone or any business you interact with along the way.
Here Are The Rules
Read each challenge carefully and click on any provided links to view helpful pictures, videos, and requirements for each challenge.
Complete as many challenges as you can in the given time frame. Challenges can be completed in any order. Challenges are often designed to bring you together through fun, difficult, or embarrassing experiences, so complete whatever challenges you and your group are comfortable with. Just be sure to create some unforgettable moments and content that your group will cherish forever!
Some challenges may require a few basic supplies to complete them. Figuring out how to obtain these supplies somewhere in the area is part of the strategy so work together and use what you’ve got to get what you need.
Team members need to stay together throughout the adventure, however, if you are all at the same location and searching for an item you can spread out until it is found and then regroup to take the necessary picture/video.
Capture as many team members in your picture or video as possible. When out in the community, teams often ask a kind stranger to take their picture or video so that the entire team can get on film. If it's necessary to have someone on your own team film certain challenges be sure to rotate who that person is so that everyone is actively involved in completing challenges throughout the adventure.
#1: If you’re looking to be “in tune” with the instruments that give Music City it’s iconic sound, then surrounding yourself with some Nashville-based Gibson Guitars is a great way to start. Gibson builds one of the world's best-known guitars, the Les Paul. Their founder, Orville Gibson, was at the forefront of innovation in acoustic guitars, especially in the big band era of the 1930s. Get your team to The Gibson Garage (209 10th Ave S Suite 209) and as a team work together to count how many total acoustic guitars there are on display throughout the entire shop. Present your answer to the B-Nash Exec Team members on site and if you are correct you will take a fun team picture in front of the lit-up Gibson sign while you’re all rocking out on some air guitars, and then submit it to HQ via the app.
#2: In a city that has become somewhat synonymous with hot chicken, Prince’s is hailed for starting the movement. Actually, as the story goes, it was a girlfriend of Thornton Prince’s who discovered he was cheating so she flavored his chicken with super hot spices in a final act of revenge. Unfortunately for her, he loved it, and it inspired Thornton to create a fiery chicken revolution. To get a better understanding of the people that crave this delicious yet painful Nashville food, get your team to the Prince’s location inside of Assembly Food Hall. Once there, find the B-Nash Exec Team members on site who will have a sampling of Prince’s “XXXHot” flavored chicken (the hottest flavor available). Take a video of your team members, at the same time, all consuming a separate bite-sized piece of this extremely spicy food and film for at least 30 seconds after the bite to document your reactions. Disclaimer, this will likely not be pleasant, which is exactly the point. Because a team that suffers together, grows together.
#3: A huge part of being successful in the hospitality industry is listening to, or being “in tune” with, the people you provide services for and understanding the stories that make them who they are. Since National Get To Know Your Customers Day was about two weeks ago (it’s true, look it up), take a video of your team and any stranger that has a tattoo while they explain what that tattoo means to them or why they got it. The tattoo must be visible at some point during the video. Although not required, after they tell you about their tattoo you could also ask them “what’s the best experience they’ve ever had here in Nashville” just to learn more about the people you serve.
#4: In the hospitality industry there are always problems that arise. Working together as a team to solve these problems quickly is often the difference between a happy guest and a bad review. To test your problem solving skills, get your team to Escape Experience (501 Union Street). Once there, head into the lobby and find the puzzle designated for this event that is on display. Work together as a team to solve the puzzle and reveal the 3-word secret phrase. Once you think you’ve solved it, take a celebratory team picture with the puzzle or the Escape Experience logo and submit the secret phrase to HQ for verification.
#5: At last count, roughly 37,000 Veterans live in Davidson County, the second largest amount in Tennessee. Anywhere around the area find an active military person or a veteran. They could be wearing some form of military or veteran attire, have a military ID, or they could simply describe their military background while you’re completing your challenge. Once you’ve found someone, take a video of them watching your entire team doing 10 push-ups or sit-ups at their feet to honor their strength and courage. After you’ve finished recording, spend a few minutes learning more about their time in the service before you depart, as a small gesture of appreciation.
#6: This downtown record label and store, whose logo can be seen HERE, is often referred to as the Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory of music stores because of it’s whacky décor and their focus on the fan experience. Not only is their Founder a modern day Rock And Roll legend and movie star (didn’t you see Cold Mountain?) but he is also very hands on at this shop and can often be seen working there (maybe you’ll bump into him). Once you figure out where this magical place is, get your team to the Novelties Lounge section of the store and find the “Monkey Band”. Do whatever is required to get the monkey band to rock out and then take either a fun video of your team dancing to their music, or a fun team picture pretending you’re at their concert and can’t believe you’re getting to watch your favorite furry idols on stage.
#7: Get your team to the Music City Walk of Fame, which is a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have contributed to the world through song or other industry collaboration and made a significant contribution to the music industry with connection to Music City. Once there take a memorable team picture with any star whose name contains the letters N, A, S, and H in any configuration.
