GP Mobile Team Building Adventure

This adventure challenge is designed to bring your squad closer together and get you to explore the surrounding area while having fun and staying safe. Please follow all local and state laws and be respectful of anyone or any business you interact with along the way.

Here Are The Rules

Read each challenge carefully and click on any provided links to view helpful pictures, videos, and requirements for each challenge.

Complete as many challenges as you can in the given time frame. Challenges can be completed in any order. Challenges are often designed to bring you together through fun, difficult, or embarrassing experiences, so complete whatever challenges you and your group are comfortable with. Just be sure to create some unforgettable moments and content that your group will cherish forever!

Some challenges may require a few basic supplies to complete them. Figuring out how to obtain these supplies somewhere in the area is part of the strategy so work together and use what you’ve got to get what you need.

Team members need to stay together throughout the adventure, however, if you are all at the same location and searching for an item you can spread out until it is found and then regroup to take the necessary picture/video.

Capture as many team members in your picture or video as possible. When out in the community, teams often ask a kind stranger to take their picture or video so that the entire team can get on film. If it's necessary to have someone on your own team film certain challenges be sure to rotate who that person is so that everyone is actively involved in completing challenges throughout the adventure.

#1: To celebrate all of the new team members that have come here to Texas to bond with each other from all over the country, find any location around town where an American flag and a Texas flag are flying within 100 feet of each other. The flags should be authentic flags made of fabric, flying or displayed for the public to see, and not a miniature version found in a gift shop, image on a poster or shirt, etc. Once there, take a video of your team working together to complete the Group Sit & Stand Challenge. Basically, your team members will all be standing shoulder to shoulder in a tight clump/circle with your backs all facing in and your arms interlocked. Slowly lower the entire interlocked group to the ground until you are in a seated position with your butt on the ground, and then slowly stand back up while remaining interlocked. At some point in your video be sure to show the two flags. To watch a video of a group successfully completing this challenge click HERE.

#2: Get your team to Tolbert’s Restaurant and Chili Parlor here in town. Once there, head to the bar (so you don’t need to get seated) and order a cup of their World Famous “bowl of red”. But to complete this Texas chili challenge properly you need to order their spiciest flavor, called the “10 alarm”. Then take a video that is at least 30 seconds long (to capture your full reactions) of your team members all at the same time consuming separate spoonfuls of this award winning recipe. Disclaimer, this will likely not be pleasant, which is exactly the point. Because a team that suffers together, grows together.

#3: Take a team picture with any parked vehicle that has a license plate which contains the letters “G” and “P” somewhere in it’s identifiers. They can be in any order, so the plate “GTP 941” would be acceptable as well as “P13 R5G”.

#4: Get every team member a large (16 ounces or so) open-top paper, plastic, or foam cup and fill it with water. Then somewhere outdoors, line up shoulder to shoulder and balance a full cup on each team member’s head. Once everyone’s cups are balanced, hold hands with the team members on either side of you and take a video of your team working together to all take 10 steps forward without anyone touching their cup or having it spill. If someone’s cup spills make sure to encourage them and then refill any spilled cups and start again as a team. After your team successfully travels 10 steps together dump the cups to prove they were full, and celebrate!

#5: Since today is Day Of The Dead, this challenge will get your team into the spirit. Wrap any one member of your team from head to toe in toilet paper (or multiple team members if they want to get in on the fun) leaving as few gaps as possible except around their nose/mouth so they can breathe easily. Then take a fun team picture with your new "mummy” co-worker!

#6: Scattered around the town are a number of statues of humans, many of whom impacted this place in significant ways. But also found around town are a few statues of animals. Find any life-size statue of an animal and take a fun team picture with it. Maybe getting attacked by it, playing with it, riding it, or some other creative scene your team comes up with. Then after this event, live each day in a way that will make people want to build a statue of you in the future.

#7: Every 5 seconds there are roughly 17 million emails sent across the globe, 47 websites are launched, and 6 hours worth of video content is uploaded to YouTube. These staggering statistics show why it’s so critical for GP Mobile to continue building a strong network of T-Mobile locations across the country and support America’s growing need to consume content on mobile devices. To help grasp just how large this global trend is, complete the “5 Second Challenge”. On a mobile device have any one team member successfully use the stopwatch function to get the timer to stop at exactly 5 seconds. Once they’ve got it, have someone take their picture as they proudly display their device with 5.00 seconds clearly visible. This should be done using the stopwatch function and not the countdown/timer clock. Everyone can be attempting the challenge but only one member needs to complete it successfully.

#8: Veterans Day is approaching and Texas is proud to have one of the strongest and largest military presence in the country. Anywhere around the area find an active military person or a veteran. They could be wearing some form of military or veteran attire, have a military ID, or they could simply describe their military background while you’re completing your challenge. Once you’ve found someone, take a video of them watching your entire team doing 10 push-ups or sit-ups at their feet to honor their strength and courage. After you’ve finished recording, spend a few minutes learning more about their time in the service before you depart, as a small gesture of appreciation.

#9: The Cowboys have started the season as one of the best teams in the NFL. To help them get psyched up for a possible Super Bowl run, find a logo of the Dallas Cowboys anywhere around the area being proudly displayed, worn, flown, etc. Then take a video of your group pretending to spike an imaginary football and immediately breaking into your very best celebratory touchdown dance while the logo is clearly visible in the background. If you need some inspiration for your performance you can click HERE.

#10: The Dallas Fire Department had some of the first paid firefighting staff in the state of Texas; including motorized fire engines; advanced training and education programs; and one of the first Emergency Medical Service (EMS) system developed in the country. To honor this area’s history in revolutionizing fire prevention, take a video of your team completing "Stop, Drop, and Roll" while any regulation/operable fire extinguisher is visible in the background, or you are standing in front of an actual fire station. Be sure to yell each step of the fire safety technique as you all do it together and make sure the fire extinguisher or fire station is clearly visible at some point in your video.

#11: Find any two strangers around the area wearing cowboy hats or cowboy boots. You could also find one wearing a hat and one wearing boots but both strangers would need to be wearing one of the required items. Once you’ve found them, take a video of your team all singing the first line of the classic 1941 song "Deep in the Heart of Texas", and then have the two strangers respond accordingly (with clapping and singing)! To see an example of this song being sung successfully click HERE. Sing it loud and proud and encourage your Texas loving strangers to do the same.

#12: Take a video of any ONE team member successfully completing the Oreo Face Challenge. Place an Oreo (or any other type of similarly sized cookie) on your forehead and using only your facial muscles and gravity attempt to move the cookie down your face and into your mouth without grabbing it with your hand or having it fall off. If it falls off place the cookie back on your forehead and try again. All team members can be attempting the challenge but only one needs to successfully complete it. To watch a video of someone completing this challenge successfully click HERE.

#13: For this challenge you have two options. Your team can all “Crab Walk” or “Shuffle Your Buns”. If you choose to crab walk, get to any seafood restaurant or market that has a crab based item on their menu or for sale on their shelves. Start your video by pointing out the actual item on the menu, or holding it in your hands if it’s in packaging, and then have everyone crab walk a few feet across the floor. To learn how to properly crab walk you can click HERE. If you choose the second option, take a video of your team members all "Shuffling Their Buns" 10 times in the bread and buns aisle of any food store, or inside any business that sells loaves of bread. To "shuffle your buns" sit on your backside with your legs out in front of you, knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Without touching the ground or your surroundings with your hands or arms at any time, scoot your butt towards your feet, then place your feet further out in front of you and again scoot your butt towards your feet. Have your team all do 10 of these at the same time and be sure to show that you're in a place where bread is for sale in the background. To watch a video of a team successfully shuffling their buns click HERE.

#14: Get to any clothing or apparel store and find two different items with enough in stock that every team member can be wearing the same two items in their own sizes. Then take a fun team picture with everyone wearing those items. For example it may be a wacky shirt, and a pair of shorts. Or maybe some cozy slippers and a large sun hat. As long as everyone is wearing the same exact two items but in their own sizes.

#15: Find a postcard that features this area in some way, or a fun greeting card, and purchase it. Then click HERE to go to the Postcard Happiness Project website and scroll down to the profile for John Craig, an adult with Downs Syndrome from Oregon that loves to receive mail. On your postcard include a fun or uplifting message and sign it with your names or your group name. The mailing address for John can be found in his profile description. Stamp your card and take a picture with it to show you've completed your Act Of Kindness and then drop it in the mail along the way or after your event ends.

#16: In just a matter of days Grapevine will transition into the “Christmas Capital Of Texas” with elaborate displays, lights galore, and even visits from Santa himself! To get your team in the spirit a little early and honor the merry legacy this town has, have each racer use shaving cream or whipped cream to give themselves some Santa-like facial features. Spray the cream over each racer's eye brows, and of course give everyone a fluffy mustache and beard. Once everyone has a proper, but messy, holiday disguise, take a fun team picture while something iconic to Grapevine is visible in the background. We’re told this will definitely help get you on this year’s Nice List!
