This adventure race is designed to bring your squad closer together and get you to explore the surrounding area while staying safe and healthy. Please follow the current CDC guidelines and your local authorities for the best ways to protect yourselves and those in your community.

Here Are The Rules

Read each challenge carefully and click on any provided links to view helpful pictures, videos, and requirements for each challenge.

Complete as many challenges as you can between Friday at 9am and Sunday at 9pm. Challenges can be completed in any order. They are designed to bring you together through fun, meaningful, difficult, or embarrassing experiences, so complete whatever challenges you and your group are comfortable with. Just be sure to create some unforgettable moments and insta-worthy content that your group will cherish forever!

Some challenges may require a few basic supplies to complete them. Figuring out how to obtain these supplies somewhere in the area is part of the strategy so work together and use what you’ve got to get what you need.

Each challenge will require you to take either a picture or video and submit it to our live HQ throughout the race via the “Bonfyre” app. Our HQ will review every submission and either verify it or give you guidance on how to complete the challenge correctly.

If you have any questions or need any assistance you can contact HQ at any time through the Bonfyre app, via email at HQ@TeamBuildingAnywhere.com, or over the phone at 833-466-8836.

Challenges

#1: This adventure race is generously sponsored by Cox, who is committed to reducing our environmental footprint one community at a time. To help support that mission, download the Litterati app on your mobile device, which uses AI technology and crowdsourcing to clean up our environment. Once downloaded enter the Challenge Code “CoxHabitat” when prompted, to join the Cox Eco Challenge. Then throughout the weekend use the app to document and discard of at least 10 total pieces of trash as a team, anywhere around San Diego County. For each person that downloads the app on your team send HQ a message confirming their Litterati username so that we can track your entire team’s progress on the app leaderboard.

Competition Alert: The team that documents and discards of the most total litter throughout the weekend will win a prize pack from TBD. Since this data is used publicly to improve how the San Diego community reduces trash be sure you’re using the app for actual litter found in the community and not something you place on the ground to get more points.

#2: Research shows that consuming raw garlic can boost your immune system. So take a video of all your team members each chewing a separate raw clove of garlic for at least 10 full seconds, Team members should be actively chewing the clove and not just holding it in their mouths. Disclaimer, although healthy this will likely not be pleasant, which is exactly the point.

#3: Just recently was National Scotch Tape Day (it’s true, look it up). If you missed out on the celebration then honor this incredibly versatile product by taking a fun group picture after everyone uses Scotch tape to stretch and distort their faces. For some inspiration click HERE.

#4: Get to any grassy surface and take a video of your team all completing the Group Sit & Stand Challenge. Basically, your team members will all be standing shoulder to shoulder in a tight clump/circle with your backs all facing in and your arms interlocked. Slowly lower the entire interlocked group to the ground until you are in a seated position with your butt on the ground, and then slowly stand back up while remaining interlocked. To watch a video of a group successfully completing this challenge click HERE.

#5: Anywhere around town take a group picture with any public digital clock (not a cell phone or personal watch) when the digits add up to 12. For example, 11:46am would be acceptable because 1+1+4+6=12. Similarly, 3:09pm would also be acceptable, or any other time where the sum of the individual digits equals 12.

#6: Click HERE to see a partial image of a local restaurant’s logo. Find this location and take a video of your team all “Crab Walking” in front of the restaurant with that logo visible in the background. To learn how to properly crab walk you can click HERE.

#7: Dunedin and the surrounding areas are still riding high from their recent Super Bowl win! To keep the celebration going, find the Bucs or Super Bowl logo anywhere around the city being proudly displayed, worn, flown, etc. Then take a video of your group pretending to Gronk spike an imaginary football and immediately breaking into your very best celebratory touchdown dance while the logo is clearly visible in the background. If you need some inspiration for your performance you can click HERE.

#8: Take a video of your team completing the "Paper Airplane Challenge". Basically send one team member to the 2nd level of any building or parking garage and have them toss a homemade paper airplane out into the air in front of them. The rest of your team should be on the sidewalk or grass below. Any one of your team members at ground level needs to catch the plane before it hits the ground, although all team members can be attempting to catch it.. To watch a group complete this challenge successfully click HERE.

#9: Earlier this month marked the 61st anniversary of the Woolworth Sit-In, which is credited with spurring a civil rights movement in downtown Tampa and began the desegregation of many establishments in the city. To honor the bravery of these high school aged demonstrators, get your team to any establishment around Dunedin where patrons are eating outside. Once there take a picture of your team all doing "wall sits" against any part of the building exterior while the patrons are visible in the background. To learn how to do a proper wall sit click HERE.

#10: Somewhere outdoors, take a video of any one team member balancing a large (16 ounces or so) open-top paper, plastic, or foam cup on their head filled with water. Then have them walk 10 paces ahead without touching the cup or having it fall off at any point during their walk. If you touch the cup or it drops, fill the cup back up with water, re-balance, and start again. All team members can attempt this challenge at the same time but only one needs to be successful.

FYI: This challenge list was created as an example for San Diego HFH to highlight the general format and concept of the adventure race event. Other than potentially the first challenge, none of the other challenges on this list are anticipated to be part of their actual event.
