OVERVIEW

We are designing a team building experience specifically for your group and your trip to Port Jefferson Village. It will be a fun team-based competition that will bring you closer together, get you to explore this historic town, and share memorable experiences with one another. In this briefing we have provided some important information to help you prepare for the event. You can also contact the event HQ at anytime 24/7 via email at HQ@TeamBuildingAnywhere.com.

DOWNLOAD THE EVENT APP

Please download the Bonfyre app on any Apple or Android devices you plan to use during the experience. This free app will enable you to engage with other group members and participate in the experiences we have planned throughout the day. It will also provide a direct line of communication between your team and our HQ if you should have any questions leading up to or during the event.

You can click on the buttons below from your mobile device to download the app, or search your app store for “Bonfyre App”. It's a very simple and intuitive group chat app, but if you need some tips on how to use it you can access the "Help" tool under the Account tab in the app.

When creating your Bonfyre account, please use the same email address that the briefing email was sent to. Please be aware that once you register a verification email will be sent to your email address. That email can sometimes take a few hours to arrive depending on your firewall settings, so check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your inbox. Leading up to your event you can log in and find two separate group chats added to your account. One for all teams in the event, and a private one for only your team members. Join both and start corresponding with our HQ and your other team members.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Leading Up To Event:

The days leading up to the start are a great time to engage with other group members within the app and come up with your team name. We encourage you to wear comfortable athletic attire and sneakers, if it is appropriate for the other group activities planned for that day. You may be participating in activities that are slightly active, traveling across a variety of surfaces, and could end up getting slightly sweaty/dirty/wet depending on the weather and the experiences you’ll be a part of.

The Event:

By 1:00pm the group will depart the SDV office in Trumbull for the Port Jefferson Ferry Terminal in Bridgeport. The group will board the ferry at 1:30pm and take the roughly 75 minute journey to Port Jefferson Village.

Upon leaving the office our HQ will start the event through the Bonfyre app. Our design team is currently finalizing the experience, but we can confirm that throughout the day we will post various team challenges and connection opportunities that you can complete to earn points. A real-time leaderboard similar to the example seen HERE will be used to show where your team is currently ranked at all times.

As you arrive in Port Jefferson at 2:45pm you will compete in a team based scavenger hunt throughout the village. Every team will receive the same list of challenges to complete around the area. The challenges are designed to bring you together through fun, meaningful, difficult, or slightly embarrassing experiences. Complete as many as possible, in any order, between 2:45pm and 4pm when you will head to Danfords for dinner.

The competition will officially end at 4:30pm and winners will be announced during dinner. Dinner will last until 6pm and the group will board the ferry at 6:30pm to travel back to Bridgeport.

After The Event:

Feel free to continue using the app to engage with other group members and post pictures and videos from some of your favorite moments throughout the event.

AWARDS

Top Teams: The teams that compile the most points throughout the event.

Best Photo or Video Award: Every picture or video you submit to our HQ throughout the event will be entered into this contest. At the end of the event our HQ will select one submission that stands above the rest. There’s no specific criteria to become the “best” so do something amazing, inspire us, make us laugh, or make us cry! The more content you post, the more entries you will have!

Best Team Spirit: The team that seems to be having the most fun together, is bonding the most with their own team and others in the group, and has the best interactions with others in the community.
