Team Building Adventure

SCROLL DOWN TO START YOUR ADVENTURE
Here Are The Rules
Complete as many challenges as you can within the given time frame. Challenges can be completed in any order.
Team members need to stay together throughout the adventure, however, if you are all at the same location and searching for something you can spread out until it is found.
Some challenges may require a few basic supplies to complete them. Figuring out how to obtain these supplies somewhere in the area is part of the experience.
After completing each challenge click the “Connection Question”. Have at least one team member answer the question while you’re at the challenge location, or as you travel together to your next location. These answers don’t need to be submitted, they are simply meant to spark meaningful conversations within your own team. The more team members that talk about their answer, the more connected you’ll become. If you choose to just have one person answer per question create a rotation of who answers next so that everyone is sharing equally.
CHALLENGES
#1: Becoming #1 in customer satisfaction for small business wireless and wireline services multiple years in a row is a huge accomplishment! In order to continue achieving this you need to be listening to the people you provide services for and understand the stories that make them who they are. Take a video of your team and any person who is not participating in this adventure that has a tattoo while they explain what that tattoo means to them or why they got it. The tattoo must be visible at some point during the video.
Connection Question For Challenge #1
#2: In just a few weeks Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour will hit movie theaters nationwide! To get Ready For It, find any parked vehicle that has a license plate which contains numerical digits that add up to Taylor’s lucky number, no more, no less. So if Taylor’s lucky number were 18 (it’s not) and the plate were "CF7H 5K6" it would be acceptable because those numbers add up to 18 and there aren't any additional numbers. Once you’ve found one, take a fun team picture with it while you all strike your best T-Swift pose.
Connection Question For Challenge #2
#3: Creating innovative technology solutions for businesses worldwide often requires a rigorous work schedule. Therefore, remaining healthy can be critical to achieving company goals. Research shows that consuming raw garlic can boost your immune system. So get your team to the large conference room and take a video of all your team members each chewing a separate raw clove of garlic for at least 15 full seconds. Team members should be actively chewing the clove and not just holding it in their mouths. Disclaimer, although healthy this will likely not be pleasant, which is exactly the point. Because a team that suffers together, grows together.
Connection Question For Challenge #3
#4: Create a “connection chain” using every member of your team. Click HERE to see an example of how to create one, and then take a video once everyone is lined up and explain how you are connected to the person next to you. Work hard to discover creative and meaningful connections with one another, not just something generic such as “we each breath air”.
Connection Question For Challenge #4
#5: Working for one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world you all have likely used Scotch Tape for just about everything. Well, except this. To honor this incredibly versatile American-made product take a fun team picture after everyone uses Scotch tape to dramatically stretch and distort their faces. To create the proper distortion you’ll need at least 5 pieces of tape per face, although the more the better! For some inspiration click HERE.
Connection Question For Challenge #5
#6: Thanks to your hard work, businesses around the globe are gaining a competitive edge with the power of 5G. To celebrate how Verizon Business and 5G are helping drive efficiencies, optimize costs and improve customer experience, have any TWO team members successfully complete the “5 Second Challenge”. On their mobile devices successfully use the stopwatch function to get the timer to stop at exactly 5 seconds. Once they’ve got it, have someone take a picture of both teammates together as they proudly display their devices with 5.00 seconds clearly visible on each. This should be done using the stopwatch function and not the countdown/timer clock. Everyone can be attempting the challenge but only TWO team members need to complete it successfully.
Connection Question For Challenge #6
#7: Being a part of a global company like Verizon requires clear communication and working together with teams not only around the country but across the globe. To celebrate these relationships and the challenges associated with everyone working towards one goal, find any location where an American flag and another country’s flag are being flown within 100 feet of each other. Once there, take a video of your team completing the “One Global Team” Challenge. Basically, your team members will all be standing shoulder to shoulder in a tight clump/circle with your backs all facing in and your arms interlocked. Slowly lower the entire interlocked group to the ground until you are in a seated position with your butts on the ground, and then slowly stand all the way back up while remaining interlocked the entire time. If you submit the country name of the second flag your team will be awarded an extra point. To watch a video of a group successfully completing this challenge click HERE.
Connection Question For Challenge #7
#8: According to the design firm that created the most recent Verizon logo, “the V symbol is now a checkmark, the universally understood symbol for getting things done. Placed at the end of the wordmark, the checkmark serves as a sign-off and endorsement to the Verizon name.” To honor the Verizon brand and the people who have helped make it globally recognizable, create your own red checkmark using anything you want from around the area and then take a proud team picture with it. The only requirements are that it is red in color and resembles the shape of the actual checkmark. The team with the largest built checkmark will be awarded an extra point, so get creative and go big!
Connection Question For Challenge #8
#9: Anywhere along the way, form a circle and have all of your team members compete together in one big Rock, Paper, Scissors duel. Basically, have everyone throw their chosen symbol at the same time. If rock, paper, and scissors are all thrown, it is a stalemate, and you all rethrow. If only two symbols are thrown, all players with the losing symbol are eliminated. Play continues until only the winner remains. Once a champion has been declared on your team, have that person battle a champion from another team (best out of five format). Be sure to cheer them on, or even create the ultimate team “walk-up” before the battle (like the ones seen HERE). When a winner of that multi-team battle has been crowned, take a picture of both teams with the winners acting victorious and the losers looking defeated. If your team wins you will receive one point and can not battle any other teams. The losing team can take on other teams that have also lost or haven’t competed yet. If you continue to lose and run out of teams to battle you will be locked out of the challenge and will not receive any points. So the risks are high, but the potential glory (and bragging rights) are well worth it!
Connection Question For Challenge #9
#10: Spread out around the business complex are a few large outdoor art installations. Find the one whose name is similar to the Dua Lipa song shown HERE, and is described by it’s artist as “weightlessness contrary to the laws of gravity”. Once you’ve found it, take a picture of your entire team all jumping in the air and high-fiving each other while the art installation is in the background. You'll need to work together as a team to time your jump as best as possible to give the effect that you are floating above the ground, for obvious reasons.
Connection Question For Challenge #10
#11: September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. To honor those, and their families, who are impacted by this disease, get your team to the large conference room and take a proud team picture showing off your hands once every member of your team has gotten their fingernails painted bright gold (the international color for childhood cancer awareness) using the real nail polish provided. For every team that completes this challenge successfully, our company (Team Building Anywhere) will be donating $25 to help fight Childhood Cancer!
Connection Question For Challenge #11
#12: Charlotte Douglas International Airport is ranked among the world’s busiest airports. In fact, it’s #7 both nationwide and globally for the amount of air traffic. And since this business complex is often in the flight path of the 1,400 or so daily arrivals and departures, there should be lots of opportunities to complete this challenge. Anywhere outside, capture a fun team picture while a commercial airliner is visibly flying through the sky in the background. Timing your picture perfectly and choosing a good angle so that your team and the plane are clearly visible will be the real challenge. To get your team an extra point, use the real-time flight tracker found HERE and tell our HQ the Flight Number and the Arrival/Departure cities of the plane you took a picture of.
Connection Question For Challenge #12
#13: Get your team outside of any dentist office and take a video of your team members all attempting to do the “Floss”. And no, it has nothing to do with your teeth. To get your team an extra point find any two strangers (people not participating in this adventure) to join your team, or better yet, teach your team how to do it properly.
Connection Question For Challenge #13
#14: More than 35,000 agencies rely on Verizon Frontline and it’s mission-critical solutions, such as helping first responders and government agencies stay connected 24/7 during emergencies. To honor the brave firefighters that protect this city, take a video of your team completing "Stop, Drop, and Roll" while any regulation/operable fire extinguisher is visible in the background. Be sure to yell each step of the fire safety technique as you all do it together and make sure the fire extinguisher is clearly visible at some point in your video.
Connection Question For Challenge #14
#15: Considered one of the seven wonders of Charlotte, the complex infrastructure and choreographed movement of Metalmorphosis inspires both native Charlotteans and visitors alike! Did you know it even has it’s own 24/7 Live Stream, which you can view HERE? Get your team to this glistening structure and pull up the Live Stream on your devices. Then have everyone on your team partially hide somewhere behind Metalmorphosis, it’s reflecting pool, or partially out of frame so that only your heads/necks are visible from the perspective of the Live Stream camera. Once everyone is in position, have someone screenshot the Live Stream feed so that it creates a fun team picture showing Metalmorphosis surrounded by a bunch of other heads.
